Privacy Policy v1.1 for Studyline: Modern Flashcards

Studyline: Modern Flashcards is designed as a local-first flashcard app. Your flashcards and study activity are stored on your device unless you choose to export or share them, or they are included in your device backups.

Information stored on your device

Studyline stores the following information locally:

Studyline does not require an account. We do not automatically receive your flashcards or study records, store them on developer-operated servers, sell them, or send their contents to Google for advertising.

Advertising

Studyline uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. Google’s advertising SDK may collect information such as your IP address and approximate location, app- or device-related identifiers, ad views and interactions, and diagnostic and performance information. Google uses this information for advertising delivery and measurement, fraud prevention, and service improvement, and may use local storage and similar technologies.

Studyline does not ask for, collect, or infer a user’s age. Instead, Google’s child age treatment is applied uniformly to every ad request, regardless of the user’s actual age. Under Google’s documented behavior, this disables personalized advertising and remarketing and prevents transmission of Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA). Other advertising-related data processing may still occur. When available, you can review advertising privacy options under Settings → About → Ad Privacy Choices. This entry appears when Google’s consent platform indicates that privacy options are required.

For details about Google’s processing, sharing, and retention of information, see Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Notifications

If you enable study reminders, Studyline requests permission to send notifications. Reminder preferences and schedules are handled on your device. You can disable reminders in Studyline or revoke notification permission through iOS Settings.

Backups, exports, and sharing

Studyline lets you import, back up, export, and share information using Apple’s system file and share interfaces. You choose the destination for exported or shared files. Advertising-related information may be transmitted automatically as described above.

Backups and exported files may contain your flashcards and study history. Files saved to iCloud Drive or another storage provider are handled according to that provider’s privacy policy. App data may also be included in device backups, including iCloud Backup, depending on your device settings. Backups or exports saved outside the app are not removed when Studyline is deleted. You must delete those files separately from their saved location or backup provider. Because Studyline does not maintain user accounts or developer-hosted copies of your library, there is no separate server-side Studyline account to delete. Deleting Studyline does not itself delete information previously processed by Google’s advertising services.
